Obituary: Mary Jane Cadman passed away peacefully at her home at St.
Joseph's Villa on February 20, 1999.
She was born in Morrisdale, Pennsylvania on December 16, 1907 to James
Stevenson and Jane Lowe Stevenson. She always said she could not have had a
better childhood. The home of her large Irish family was full of music and
dance.
She married Ralph Cadman on February 26, 1934. They had two children, James
Lloyd Cadman and Patricia Jeanne (David) Lewis. She had nine grandchildren
and 29 great grandchildren.
She was a wonderful school teacher who started teaching in a one room school
house at the age of 18. She taught for over 40 years in Pennsylvania and Salt
Lake City. After retiring she continued to substitute teach for nearly 20
years.
She was full of life and enjoyed many activities. Her greatest joy was her
love for all children but especially her grandchildren and great
grandchildren. The lights of her life this past year and a half were her new
twin great grandsons. Her little Irishmen.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph's for all of their
help these past few months.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Cadman, her four sisters,
Margaret, Kathleen, Dorothy, Gertrude and her brother, Peter. She is survived
by her sister, Theresa Pfennig.
We will all miss her greatly.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Villa, 451 Bishop Federal
Lane, SLC, UT, Wednesday, February 24, 1999 at 1 p.m.
Funeral Directors Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary.
