Hi, Kerry,
I have some CADMANs, and as that name seems to be a bit unusual, I thought I'd drop
you a line.
I haven't gotten my Cadmans back very far, but here's what I have so far:
William Cadman,b ca 1620 d 1 Nov 1684 @ Portsmouth, Newport Co., Rhode Island. His
wife was Elizabeth Unknown, and they had a son, George, b ca 1656 @ Portsmouth, RI, d
between 24 Nov. and 3 Dec 1718 @ Dartmouth, Bristol Co. MA. George marr Hannah HATHAWAY,
b ca 1662 @ Dartmouth, MA, and d before 2 May 1749. Her will was probated at Freetown.
She was d/o John & Sarah (Warren) Cooke, which made her the g'daughter of Richard
WARREN & his wife, Hester le Mahieu. So right there are two of the Mayflower
passengers.
George and Hannah (Hathaway) CADMAN had daughter Elizabeth, b ca 1685, prob @
Dartmouth.
Elizabeth CADMAN marr William WHITE, s/o Sylvanus WHITE and his
wife Deborah Unknown. Sylavanus was s/o Peregrine and Sarah (Bassett) White. Peregrine
WHITE was s/o William and his wife Susannah Unkn. (some say she was Susannah Tilden, but
this has never been proven, but both were Mayflower passengers.)
So all we need to do is to bridge the approx. hundred year gap in your
generation of Cadmans, and mine! But I think there probably is a connection...that
surname isn't that common at all.
Please let me know what you think...
Regards.
