I am not Derek, I am Dolores
My Cadman relatives date back to the Mayflower. Past that, I know nothing
of them. We don't have a Foster as far as I know, but I could be wrong.
All the best to you and your research.

Hi Derek,
My Cadman relative was my Great Great Grandmother Ann Cadman - she was
born in 1803 in ?Acton, Cheshire. She married my great great
grandfather, George Foster b 1799 in Audlem, Cheshire, on 1.4.1823 (she
was 24). They had a son, also called George, born in 1840, a career
serviceman in the Royal Marine Light Infantry based at Forton Barracks,
Alverstoke, Hants from 1860 - 1881. He then moved to Chigwell, in Essex.
He had ll children (at least), one of whom was William Foster, born 1881,
at Forton Barracks, Alverstoke, Hants. William Foster was my
Grandfather. He was killed in 1942. His eldest daughter, Gladys
Geraldine Adelaide Foster was my mother. She was born in 1910 and died
in 1989.
I know very little more about George and Ann and their children. I
would be very interested to hear more about that end of the line - I can't
get any further back than them.
Ann Cadman and George Fosters children were, according to the 1841 census
Emma - b 1836, George - b 1840, Hannah - b 1826, Ellen - b 1838 (married
John Barnett on 2.7.1860 in Wybunbury), John - b 1834, Mary - b 1826,
William - b 1829. Since Ann was only 35 in 1841 there may, of course, be
other children. I have some more information somewhere and will, if this
is relevant, hunt it out.
Best wishes.
Sue C
