Kim, I'm very interested in both your CADMAN and ARMSTRONG surnames, as I
also have both in my line (Armstrong is my middle name). You didn't mention any
places in your letter so I don't know if there's even a possibility of a
connection here, but it doesn't hurt to check!
My ARMSTONGs were originally from Scotland, but more recently (early/mid
1800's), from New York State. I have Armstrongs on both sides of my
mother's family, but know very little about one of them, my great grandmother, Mary
Armstrong, who marr James Gregory, Sr. Their son, James Gregory Jr. marr.
Allie Armstrong, d/o James and Mary Eliza (Baker) Armstrong.
My CADMANs were b, I believe, in England in the 1650-1660's and d in the
mid 1800's, prob in MA.
George Cadman was b 1656, & d ca 1718. His wife, Hannah HATHAWAY, was b ca
1662 a
& d bef May 1749. Their dau, Elizabeth, b ca 1685, prob. @ Dartmouth,
Providence Co., RI. I don't have her dod or pod. She marr William WHITE, s/o
Sylvanus & Deborah (Unkn.) White, and gg'son of William and Sarah (Bassett)
WHITE, Mayflower passengers.
If anything here looks familiar, I'd be tickled to hear from you and to
share info.
Regards,
Barbara in MO (but originally from NYC)
