Hi Mary,
While I do not have your Joshua's parents in my database I have some leads
for you.
There were 2 Cadman families who went to Ontario as Loyalists:
#1. John E. Cadman and his son John from Tryon County, NY.
Source: THE OLD UNITED EMPIRE LOYALISTS LIST, APPENDIX B
"Cadman, Senr., John E District Osnabruck. Soldier R.R.N.Y., Muster Roll,
P.L. 2d, 1786."
"Cadman, Junr., John do R. R. N. Y. Muster Roll, young man, P.L. 2, 1786."
#2. William Cadman, b. about 1745. [[my line. I've collected quite a bit
of information on this line.]]
William Cadman & his first wife, Mary had 3 children:
1. Asa, 1768, settled in Fredericksburgh Township, m. Margaret Dorothy
Miller. I know of 3 children (Alpheus, Asa 1808, Jacob 1811)

3. Elizabeth, 1774
William & his second wife, Anne had 5 children:
4. Sylvia
5. Alpheus, settled in Fredericksburgh and married Sarah Taylor 24 Oct 1802.

6. Deborah
7. Joshua, b, abt 1795, settled in Fredericksburgh, married 1. Mary McMullen,
married 2, Mary Sills. They had seven children including Joshua M., b. 8 Dec
1825, who married Catherine Benn and had 3 girls born in South
Fredericksburgh.
8. William, b. 1802, m. 1829. settled in Fredericksburgh.
William & his third wife Dorothy Lloyd had 1 child:

Possibilities:
Your Joshua is son of Asa or Alpheus or John Junior.
This should give you something to look into . Or at least the chance to
eliminate some people. Please keep in touch, I'm interested in what you find,
and can share more on William Cadman.
