Hello, Still searching the area of Johnston, Dobbs, Lenior and Greene CO, NC
for my Cade Connection. I was wondering if this Richard Smith Cade could be
the same one listed in the Greene CO, NC voter registers abt. 1790 (Glasgow
CO then) I also note that no one seems to have any information on Waddell
Cade of Greene CO formerly Dobbs CO.? It is obvious that Waddell connects due
to the naming patterns later with the Cades (James Waddell Cade, etc.) Any
information on this connection?
Next, where in Northern North Carolina did Robert Cade and Stephen Cade
settle before coming to Johnston CO, NC? I heard that they established a
church in one of the Counties like Northampton, Bertie, Granville or Chowan
in that area and thought that we might find some church records which might
help. The church records in Lenior CO which probably had the records for
Stephen Cade was Walnut Creek Primitive Baptist Church on the border of
Lenior and Wayne CO, NC (old Dobbs Co, NC). Those records are lost,
apparently the preacher's relatives found them of no use and pitched them or
did they really? (what a great loss). Any help with some clues would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ron
