I am grateful for the details of Fanny Caddy's marriage: presumably at a
church.
I have not found anyone of that name with a birth registered in England and
Wales in 1848, though a Frances Caddy was registered in the Stafford
district in the December quarter 1847 (I do not have the G.R.O. reference).
The 1851 census shows a three-year old Fanny Caddy, said to have been born
at Piddlehinton, Dorset, where she was living. The P.R.O. reference is HO
107/1858 f 385. From the 1881 census index ( RG11/1188 f 59) she seems to
be the one. She was Bruce Quedley's and Dianne Vickers' cousin four times
removed.
Reference to the Vital Records Index shows her baptism at Piddlehinton on
the 12th July 1848 (the source of the entry being the bishop's transcript).
Much of my information on her ancestry comes from Ian Caddy, her great
great nephew, who, as far as I know, does not use e-mail. I can happily
supply a Gedcom file of what I have, though all or most of my information
is from secondary sources. Her line has been traced back to the birth of
David Caddey about 1744 at Piddlehinton.
