For those Dorset CADDY researchers who have a Piddlehinton link : I had
lunch today at the CADDY "family" public house , now known as The Thimble ,
formerly The New Inn . ( Thanks to Joy of NZ for alerting me to the family
link ). They had on sale a well illustrated history of the village "The
Story of Piddlehinton" published by Dorset Books , ISBN 1-871164-07-9 at GBP
5 instead of the usual GBP 8.95 . The book contains a photo of "Mrs Caddy"
( also on the wall opposite the main bar ) in the entrance of the pub c.
1900 . It looks as if this might be Diana OLD , wife of Benjamin CADDY . The
book doesn't have an index , so I don't yet know if other family appear in
it but there is plenty to interest in it anyway . Probably available online
from Amazon etc.
Best wishes to all listers,

PS the Rabbit and Mushroom pudding is OK but not brilliant - I think the
rabbit had eaten the mushrooms and some of the veg. before getting
involved in the cooking ;>)
