There was a Frederick George Caddey (he appears in other records as Caddy),
who was apparently born on the 25th May 1878 at Dewlish, Dorset, and died
in the Eastbourne District (Sussex) in 1972. The birth reference from the
General Register Office is Jun 1878 Dorchester 5a 361 and the death
reference is Sep 1972 Eastbourne 5b 743. I have a pedigree for him two
generations back.
There is a marriage of one Frederick George Caddy in the Bromley district
(in north-west Kent) in the September 1903 quarter (but I do not have the
volume and page numbers).
There is a birth of an Arthur George E. Caddy registered in the March 1905
quarter in the Bromley district. Again, I do not have the volume and page
references for this, and had not connected him to his parents, so this
query has been of some help to me already.
I cannot find the birth of a Samuel Hubert Caddy registered between 1886
and 1890, which seems odd. After 1874, parents were required to take the
initiative in registration, and not many were missed by the 1880s. Is a
birth certificate available?
I presume that Frederick Henry Caddy was the one whose birth was registered
in the March 1878 quarter at Wolverhampton (again, I lack the volume and
page numbers).
