Hi Julie!
Thanks for your quick reply! I have just sent a note to the Johnston Central Library, Co.
Cavan inquiring about getting information from the 1841 census as I am in NJ, USA. I was
unaware that the 1841 census still existed.
The only reason I mentioned Lurganboy as promising as the baptim address for Elizabeth
Cadden was Lurganboy, Castlerahan, County Cavan and you referenced Lurganboy connected to
Caddens there in your original posting.
I have a reference for a Maria Cadden born about 1817 arriving in New York on 6 Apr 1835
with her last residence listed as Longford, which I believe is close. There were also two
other families of Caddens in Newark at the same time. One was James Cadden and Ellen
Frairy who were married in Oldcastle, Meath in 1840. The other was John Cadden and Ann
Healy who were married in Ireland. They had Mary about 1839 and Bernard about 1845 there.
They came to Newark, NJ and had Luke on Jan 5, 1846. The names repeat some the ones you
have. I have never been able to prove any connections, but John Cadden was mentioned in a
letter from Patrick Cadden to Maria Cadden in December, 1848. Patrick and Maria are my
Great Grand uncle and aunt.
I really appreciate your help. I may finally determine from where they came in Ireland!
