Elsie Moses, Cincinnati, Ohio, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away
Sunday, August 6, 2000 at the age of 89. She was the beloved wife of the
late Reverend Joe Moses. During their marriage of 66 years, she was a
faithful and loving wife and mother to their eight children while he served
both as a pastor in several area churches and traveled as an evangelist. The
Tabernacle Church of God on S. 2nd Street is one of the two churches that
Preacher Joe built in Williamsburg. Elsie and Joe, both natives of
Williamsburg, moved to Cincinnati
several years ago to be close to their children. She is survived by four
daughters, Betty Moses, Carolyn Steelman, Jewel and Mark Koening, and Wilda
and Tom Pace, all of Cincinnati; and four sons, Glenn and Joyce Moses of
Chiefland, Florida, Bob and Joyce Moses of Okiana, Ohio, Frank and Aline
Moses and Harvey Moses of Cincinnati; one special person, Lawrence "Duke"
Frazer; one brother, Quentin Moes; and one sister, Gladys Moses of
Williamsburg; 21 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren; and a host of
relatives and friends who remember happy times and mourn her passing. She
was preceded in death by her parents, Jake and Angeline Rountree Moses; her
husband, Preacher Joe Moses; son-in-law Bob Steelman; granddaughters, Connie
Steelman and Cissy Baugh; five brothers, Dant, Eddie, Howard, Leslie, and
Thornt; and one sister, Demmie Centers. Funeral services were held Friday,
August 11 at the State Avenue Church of God in Cincinnati. Obituary
