Does anyone recognize this photo? It was in the same batch of old
photos with the John Sparks CADDEL (CADDELL Family that I recently
posted).
It is probably James Lee CADDEL, son of John Sparks CADDEL of Uvalde
Co., TX. They were large cattle ranchers in Uvalde Co., TX.
Here is their family:

JOHN SPARKS CADDEL, son of Andrew Bell and Susan (Sparks) CADDEL, was
born (9 Jul 1848) on the CADDEL farm between New Salem, TX and
Henderson, TX in Rusk County where he was raised. He married in Bell
County, TX and later lived in Coryell County, TX where his first wife
died. He remarried there and later lived in Kerr County, Bandera County
and finally in Uvalde County. In 1880 while living in Bell County, he
worked as a butcher. At an early age John Sparks CADDEL began his long
and active career as a rancher and stockman, operating first in Bandera
County and, for the last 36 years of his life, in Uvalde County near Con
Can, TX.
Descendants and friends of John Sparks hold a annual reunion at the
campgrounds near Shut-In Hollow at Concan to keep the family lineage
available to interested relatives and friends. For years and years
friends, relatives and neighbors came from near and far to attend the
CADDEL reunion.
