Someone had to do it, so we (bob, steve, diane, pearl) decided to do it. Do
what you say? Well, we figured someone should go camping before the
reunion and make sure everything worked. The old fire king (steve)
hasn't built a fire in several months and the gas in the boats is kind
of old, and who knows what kind of condition the propane might be in.
So we packed everything up Tuesday night and are headed to word today
(wednesday) and right after work (or maybe a little sooner) we are
headed out to Laughton Lake for a couple of days! This is strictly
research and we will refrain from too much enjoyment. It is supposed to
be in the mid 80's here and we will have to put the Ski Doos into the
water and test them of course, but someone has to do it. Steve/Dianes
hasn't even been in the water since they owned it. We mainly have to
settle the nagging question, Whos ski doo is fastest! Steve/Dianes has
10 more horsepower but Pearl is a more experienced rider so She will
jockey ours and I am kind of thinking we might have chance.(steve 180
lbs with 75 horsepower, pearl 135 lbs with 65horsepower) If anyone wants
to place an small little wager email it and we will post the results
Friday night or Saturday. The top speed is about 45mph.
We will take some pictures and post them this weekend, for those that
might enjoy a little pre reunion camping fix.
Tonya we sure enjoyed your letter. Those are the kind you can just sit
back and read, enjoy and learn what is happening. thanks for it. We love
the idea of a big fish fry on Thursday. I got believe we will have
plenty of fish by then. I am quite positive that Britney & Laura will
have a blast on the ski doos. Do they know how to water ski? They are
tons of fun to drive and stuff but they are lots of fun to ski behind
too. We will be bringing several water towables and the old Blue Bombers
(remember those big fat old logs the we skied on when we were young?
They are great to learn on, even if they are 40 years old. We have a
regular set of double skis also plus a salom ski for those more advanced
(if there are any).
Daddy & Tonya seemed to agree we didn't need the big bar-b-que grills so
they are staying home. We are anxious to hear how the bus does with the
new engine and all. Sounds like its a done deal by now. Any reports on
how the engine is performing??? How about the hard drive upgrade on the
computer, did you get that accomplished and back in service yet??
Hamburgers are fine with us too Steve. If you haven't had one of Steves
hamburgers, your in for a treat.
Well I need another cup of coffee then I am finishing loading up the
camper and headed to work. Talk to everyone when we get back.
Love
Bob
