CLEM HUGH CADDEL, son of Lewis Green Jr. and Mary Elizabeth (Phillips) CADDEL, was born
(12 Oct 1877), raised and married in Denton County, TX. He changed his name from CADDEL to
CADDELL in 1928. Clem cut his hand on a rusty barb wire fence. He got gangrene in it and
had it amputated. Clem had a grocery/general store and also farmed at Aubrey. Clem was
listed in the 1915 edition of the Return of Lodges of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Texas.
Mary was a charter member of the Aubrey Eastern Star and Aubrey Baptist church. He later
lived at 1502 Lakeview, Dallas, TX, where he and his wife, Mary Leila, both died. They
were buried in the Belew Cemetery, Aubrey, Denton County, TX. Mary was the daughter of
William and Margaret (?) Adderholdt.
