Research Update:
A few weeks ago, I reported to you (noted below) that a LEA descendant
was going to go through her files to see if she had any records of her
ancestor Major LEA and Andrew CADDEL in Spotsylvania Co., VA or Orange
Co., NC. She finally got home from vacation and reviewed her files.
She sent me a very detailed chronology of her LEA family in the area.
However, she was not able to find anything in her files. The search goes
on....

Now for the update. I just located a LEA descendant that has
detailed
records on the LEA family of Orange/Caswell/Person Cos., NC. Her direct
ancestors were John LEA and his son Major Tillman LEA (refer to 1754
chronology above). John LEA came from England to Spotsylvania Co., VA
and Major Tillman LEA was born in Spotsylvania. It is noted that Andrew
CADDEL was co-executor to the will of John LEA in 1778. Also, his son
Major LEA and Andrew CADDEL did surveys (1754-1762) of land in the newly
formed County of Orange Co., NC. Through her records I hope to find new
info on Andrew CADDEL. She is going on vacation soon, ut when she gets
back she promised to send me info from her records. I'm hoping this will
be a breakthrough in discovering the early life of Andrew CADDEL.
