Shirley,
First let me introduce myself. My name is Dave and I come from a long line
of the Caddell's. I am currently working on my family tree. I noticed the
e-mail that
Bill and yourself were corresponding back and forth. As I said, I'm from a
long line of Caddell's, starting with James Banks Caddell(b.1730, Moore
County,NC.
I am descended through James Daniel Caddell (b.1765, Moore County,NC.), which
is the son of James Banks. I saw all those names Bill was giving to you, but,
like him I could not place them in the James Banks Caddell line. The only
thing I can figure is James Banks must have not come to the United States
alone. It has been real difficult to place anybody that was with him. I have
very little information on James Banks anyway.
What I have on James Banks Caddell was he came to the United States from
Scotland, possibly by way of Ireland. He first settled in Craven County,NC.
By 1773, he had settled on McClendons Creek in what is now Moore County,NC. I
have never found anything to tell me anybody came with him .
I am going to take these names over to the Kenton County,Kentucky library
and see if anything comes up. Kenton County Library has one of the largest
setups for genealogy in the country. I will let you all know if I find
something.
Hopeful to find something,
Dave C.
