Don't tell her yet. Until I have proof of documentation. There are several (Henderson
lines) that say our Jean is part of their line AND some who say that she is not. When I
get proven docs then I will be for sure. This is just the line I am working on. I am
hoping that other Caddells are working it too. My dates match up with one line but they
have Jean married to another man 1st then Andrew Caddel. I do not know yet. That was the
1st time I got that info. It is possible but got to get the wills and deeds, etc.
This is just info that may have clues for my search.
William Henderson was married to Jean Hamilton
their son William Henderson married Margaret Bruce.
William and Margaret's son James married Martha Hamilton.
James and Martha had???????? our Jean. Not proven yet.
By the way they named their children back then, it maybe that our Jean was named after her
Greatgrand mother. Our Andrew and Jean named 2 of there girls with this same pattern.
Martha and Margaret. Now this is just a guess not proven but I need somewhere to start. If
I get Jean proven to James and Martha, there are several books that deal with the
Henderson line back to the early 1600's. But as you know, published books are not
always right. I have spent a lot of money on books. Generally, I find someone with a book
that I think might have the information I need and ask them questions and if the
information in it is good, then I buy the book for my documentation. I love books that
have wills and deeds, etc. This way I know where to get the written documentation to prove
my line. Even though it is published in a book, I want a certified copy from that State
Office.
This is a great hobby but costly too.
As soon as I get the proof of Jean's parent, I will post it and let everyone know
where they can get their certified copy.
Happy New Year and Happy Hunting
