Do you know anything about the Benjamin Cadle who served in the Old Wars,
joining in Tn. in 1813?
I wondered if he might be related to the James Cadle who moved to Tn. around
1810.

Appreciate this information. Based on the dates and children I do not
believe that these two are the same Caddell's. According to my
grandfather, the Cadles came from Germany and changed their name from
Kadel to Caddell when English was declared the official language by the
1st Continental Congress. At some point in time, Caddell was shortened to
Cadle around the time James moved to Tennessee (ca 1810).
