Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Hi,
Good idea but I always thought that it was preferable not to publish anything on persons still alive?

Subject: from Ann Caddell Crawford re: our future descendants
Dear Caddell cousins and near cousins,
As we struggle to piece together these tidbits of information from the past,
it occurred to me that we should consider each of us contributing something
about our CURRENT families to this mail list. Even if it is just names and
dates of birth and death, that would be a beginning.
It grieves me to not have something that could help me "know" those ancestors
we have uncovered. While we have many of the dates, we do not really know who
they were and what they did during their life on earth. Unfortunately, many
of us only become interested in the past as we get older ourselves. Many
times this information is lost forever.
If it were not for Bill Caddell and other really serious researchers, and
those who have contributed to this mail list, we would not even know what we
know now about the past.
A doctor once told me that somewhere in our past is another person
remarkably like YOU! Have you found YOU yet?
As I look at my hands, I see my father's knuckles. As I look at my daughter's
hands, I see my mother's beautiful and dainty fingers. I wonder who back
there had her incredible sense of humor.
Let's make it easier for our future descendants. With the Internet, it is
within our power to leave more than a few facts about our lives and families.
Does this interest you? I hope so. If so, how can we best do this?
Love, Ann

Hi. I am related to lots of Caddells in Texas. Back in late 1850's one of my ancestors John Caddell moved to Cherokee County, Texas where he died and family moved into Gonzalez County. Do you have info on these Caddell's. Thanks . Vera
