Help!!! My family descended from Abraham Kauble (dob 1806 - Pennsylvania) who moved to
Marion County Ohio in the early 1830's with his wife Eleanor McNeal. My dad went to
the library in Salt Lake City 20 plus years ago and wrote down that Abraham's father
was Joseph Cable (dob 1780) son of Jonathan Cable (dob 1760) and his wife Elizabeth.
This Jonathan was the son of Abraham Cable who was the son of Phillip Cable and Maria
Brady. I can't find anything to substantiate this information. My father's
cousin separately also came up with this same lineage.
I do have an abstract that shows that Elizabeth Kauble obtained a land patent for 360
acres of land in 1832 of which 80 acres each was sold to Abraham (also went by Abram) and
Daniel Kauble. I think these two men were brothers and probably Samuel Kauble was as
well. The 1850 census lists an Elizabeth Kauble in Marion age either 70 or 90 as it is
difficult to make out. If she is 90, she could be the grandmother and widow of Jonathan
Cable and the mother of Joseph Cable. I also found a Joseph Kauble listed on the 1870
census living with Daniel Kauble in Clay County Indian age 90.
Is there anyone who could help me figure out who the father of Abraham, Daniel and Samuel
Kauble could possibly be? I am at a loss.
