Dear Wilma:
I have always had a strong suspicion that George Michael Cable was the father
of Abraham Cable (called Able) (my husband's great grandfather) . I found a
record several years ago that Michael was married earlier and his wife died
leaving him with three sons. Go back to the1880 randolph county mo. census.
All that bunch of Cables around Moberly originated from PA. My father-in-law
Harry Cable whose parents were Ace and Mattie Cable told us that his family
came from PA dutch and Clarence his son said they traveled where the coal
minining was plentiful. I find it pretty amazing that each time one of
Ace's brothers died that the obituary says they were born in Moberly. Their
mother in the 1880 census had them all born in PA and I would hope she knew.
I really wish we could find the loose ends. I got an e-mail from Marsha
Cable Belty (my husband's cousin) a few days that contains your letter about
George Michael Cable. I do know, however, that Michael and Catherine are
buried in Moberly. It is a small world and hopefully we will find we are
related.
Let me hear from you and I hope to talk with Marsha on the phone soon.
