Betty and other list members,
Thanks for seeing my typographical error on Christian's death. He
certainly didn't die before he was born. Veronica does need to be
added as a child.
Regarding Henry's death, I have the following: "Henry Cable son of
Christian Cable Obit: Died 29 Oct 1868, a respectable citizen of Shade
Twp, Somerset Co, PA. He left home on the morning of the same day to
go to Shanksville, a distance of 10 miles to a physician from whom he
had been taking some medicine for a slight disease of the heart. Not
finding him home, he waited until 7 o'clock in the evening. When the
physician came home, he received some medicine & intending to return
home that night he mounted his horse biding goodnight to a person
present starting off and immediately began to sink in a forward
position, fell to the ground. In 5 minutes was dead. He was taken to
his residence the following day and buried on 1 November at age 61
years, 7 months, and 23 days. He leaves a wife and six children, four
of which have families who are brought to mourn for the lap of one who
was near and dear to them. He leaves only one surbviving brother out
of a family of eleven brothers and sisters, whose name is Jacob Cable.
The deceased has been a prominent member of the German Seven Day
Baptist Church for the last 30 years, and has ever proved faithful and
true to his calling regarding the word of God as his only guide in all
walks of life."
I have put Beisel, Bisel, and Pisel as although the original name was
Beisel, some family members changed the name to Bisel or Pisel.
Someone pointed out to me that often the name Mary was put in front of
the given name for relgious reasons. I have wondered, but do not know
if Mary Catherine and Catherine are the same individual.
Thanks again for all your information.
