Surname: LaGraves, Green, Greene, Bretsch, Cable, Arnold, Penn
-------------------------
Watertown Daily Times, 19 April 1918
Funeral of Mrs. Mary Green
LaFargeville -- The funeral of Mrs. Mary [LaGraves] Green was held from
the home of her son-in-law, Peter Bretsch, on Wednesday afternoon. Rev.
Eldridge, pastor of the Methodist Protestant church, officiated. The grandsons
acted as bearers. Mrs. L. W. Burton and Mrs. Clark Walts sang her favorite
hymn, "Saviour Like A Shepherd Lead Us." Burial was made at Omar.
Mrs. Green was about 78 years of age. [She died at age 75 according to
the Greene genealogy. - ds] She was the wife of Col. Green, who died several
years ago. [Apparently an unusual reference to her husband's name, Collins
B. Greene. - ds] For many years she has made her home with a son-in-law,
Peter Bretsch, of Tanners Corners, at whose home she passed away Monday
evening, following a short illness from appendicitis. Mrs. Green was identified
with the Baptist church. She is survived by two daughers, Mrs. Cannie Cable
of Watertown, and one daughter [Lelia] in the west, and the following grand-children:
Mrs. George Arnold of Star Lake, Claude Bretsch of Redwood, DeForest Bretsch
of Carthage, Earl Bretsch of Lafargeville, Mrs. Leta Penn of Plessis, and
Miss Ruth Cable of Watertown.
