Hi Charles & List:
First I should explain that I am a Rootsweb supporter, meaning I
pay $25.00 a year, which I figure is 2.00 a month. When I joined, I
was allowed to have 2 mailing lists, one of which is this Cable list.
Also, I am on a list, called the Personalized mailing list. I have entered
my surnames, and any email that comes through rootsweb having those
surnames in them, come to me. (Even ones that mention Cable Modems).
The email you are referring to, was form a list that is called,
Brethren-List at
rootsweb.com. It came to me because it had the
surname Cable in it.
Yes, I do have the book they are referring to. It is from
Brothersvalley
Church of the Brethren, which was in Somerset Co., PA. I must admit,
I agree with you, that that marriage doesn't sound correct.
There was a Madalena, or something close to the spelling in the
family tree. I have never seen her last name, though.
I am off work tomorrow. I will look through the book, and try
to find the place in the book, this person is referring to. I will report
back soon.
If you are interested, you can email the person who sent the message
to the Brethren list. (I think one of our list members belong to that list,
also).
Can any one else shed some light on this issue?

Rosemary-I appreciate very much your forwarding these tidbits to us.
Would it be possible to attach a date to the items? For example,
"Original members of Stoney Creek Brethren Church." What year? Also, the
listings of "original members" appear to be marriages. Are they? I was
not aware that my Abraham married a Brady. I have his wife as Susannah
Stahl. Do you have a copy of the book? Just where is Brothers Valley?
Also. "Land owners in the valley were--" What time frame?
