Dear Mike
I have seen the census info on this Cable family you just posted from
Morris, NJ.and NY on the Cable-l(a)rootsweb.com
Below is the Daniel Cable family b NY but living most of his life in NJ in
Morris, Passaic and Essex County.
Could both families be related?
I was told growing up that Daniel Cable's son, Gerardus Cable and his wife
Emma Rebecca Ward, met and married while on a wagon train going west. There is
no proof of this but it could have been mixed up with Daniel's relatives going
west.

In NY state there is the following
I have been looking at the census records from Monroe. In 1810 we have Susan
Cable with 4 males all young, and 6 females, one is older, and then next to
her is John Cables one adult male, one female child and one adult female. It
looks to me like Susan is John's mother.
In 1820 we have William Cables. I would guess he is Johns' brother. I don't
know where John is.
In 1830 we have John with 1 male 15-20, 1m 50-60, 4 females under 5, 1 f
5-10, 1 f 40-50, and one female 60-70. (His mother?) And William Cable, 1 male
under 5, 2 5-10, 1 20-30, 1 male 40-50, 1 female 5-10 and 1 female 30-40.
In 1840 we have William Cable with 2 males 10-15, 1 m 50-60, 1 female 5-10, 1
f 15-20 , and 1 female 40-50 (Nancy?). Then we have John 1 male 50-60, 2
females 10-15, 1 f 50-60, and one female 70-80. Then a younger John Cable with 1
male under 5, 1 10-15, 1 30-40, and 2 females 20-30. Then William with one
male under 5, one 20-30, and 1 female 20-30.
In 1850 I see Mary Elizabeth living with William and Nancy. I guess that is
the same William. The ages don't seem to work out but then that is not
unusual. I guess William was born in 1790? John was born maybe in 1780? Then I assume
the younger John and William are John's and William's sons. Is this younger
John the father of Mary and Daniel? I guess William and Nancy are Mary's
grandparents. Maybe her parents have died.
