Dear Brenda,
What I have is only a clue.
My great-grandmother was Margeret (spelled this way on every document I have
found, including death certificate) Adelia Cable, born 1 July 1850 in Muncy,
Lycoming County, PA. Her father was Henry Cable, born 8 February 1819, "near
Gettysburg, PA", according to his obit in 1898.
This is only speculation, but it is not unreasonable to think that my Henry
had a little sister born in 1821after whom he named a daughter.
Trouble is, the nearest Cables I can find to Gettysburg with a child less
than 5 in 1820 are in Franklin County, next west of Gettysburg. Abraham
Cable Jr. had two females under 5 and 3 age 5-10 in 1830. He is my most
favored candidate for Henry's father, but I haven't been able to prove a
connection.
Henry Cable's children were William Quinn Cable (named for his
father-in-law), born 1844, Margeret born 1850, Henry (Harry) born September
1852, Rose, John, and Mary Jane, birth dates unknown. I give these names in
case they replicate earlier Cable family names.

I would like to know if anyone has any info on this woman. My records show
that she was born 8 Apr 1821 (I'm not sure where, but assume it could be in
Pennsylvania) and died 7 Aug 1899. she married Arthur PRATT in 1845. He was
born 12 Mar 1824 in Fayette Co., Penn., and died 15 June 1904, "while
visiting his nephew 'W. A. PRATT' a conductor on the Penn. Railroad of
Pittsburg, Penn." He was buried in Buckingham Cemetery in Iowa.
Thanks for your help, ahead of time! Brenda
