The following people could be related to Daniel Cable.
There was a Coble/Cobels family who came to America around 1760 to work the
mines in Passaic County including Ringwood and Charlottesburg. Many of these
families moved to PA but some of the families remained in NJ.
These mining families came from Germany and were Catholic.

age 20 living with Eliza and John Van Ness.

Daniel Cable marries Catherine Ann Vanderhoof at Newark. She is the daughter
of Peter A. Vanderhoof and Susanna Young Crumb.
1862
First child Wm H. Cable born. He is named for William H. Vanderhoof, son of
Peter A. Vanderhoof and Susan Youry Crum, who died in the Civil War 1862.

Cables born in Monroe in the State of NY age 23 years and by occupation a farmer.
He volunteered the 4th of Jan 1864 for three years sworn and subscribed to, at
Morristown, the 4th day of January 1864 before James M. Brown, Capt.
Description by physicain: Daniel has grey eyes, dark hair, light complexion,
is five feet 7 1/2 inches high. Mustered into the service of the U.S. in
Battery B., NJ L. Artly on the 4th day of Jan 1864 at Morristown, NJ.

Hospital, Maryland. He was sent to Military Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia.
21 July 1864 sent to Central Park Hospital, NY.
24 Sep 1864 transferred to US Gen. Hosp. Newark, NJ.
August He was at Central Park Hospital, New York City.

Declaration for Original Invalid Pension dated 15 Mar 1881.
He is living in Fairfield, NJ. He states that he was sent with his battalion
to take the guns that had been captured the day previously. That night he
slept on the ground without shelter and awoke next morning with a bad cold that
culminated in typhoid fever and chronic diarrhea. The fever left him with a
constant pain in the left side near the spleen and with pain in the left lung
and pain in left side of head. He states his Post Office is 544 Broad Street,
Newark, NJ. His doctor says he has only been able to work half time to the
present time. He, also, states he was not ill before military service and that he
has good and temperate habits.

Catherine and her daughter died two days after birth of child Jennie.
There is a listing of a child named Jennie C. on Fairfield Reformed Church
burial records but I found no tombstone for either Catherine of Jennie at the
cemetery.

In Aug Daniel marries Carrie Louise Decker. He is living in Pompton Plains,
Pompton Township and she is living at Echo Lake, West Milford Township. The
witnesses were Thomas M. Decker of Echo Lake and Emma Vreeland of Midvale,
Pompton Township. The minister is Conrad Vreeland, Pastor of the Echo Lake Baptist
Church. They moves to Macopin.

West Milford.
1898 Filled out form for Dept of the Interior, Bureau of Pensions,
concerning his Pension.

Census he was living in West Milford, NJ with a new wife of ten years, Carrie
Louise. He is a veterinary surgeon.
1907
Application for Pension, Daniel says he is 66 years old and a resident of
Upper Macopin. He describes himself as 5 feet 7 1/2 inches tall with Light
complexion, grey eyes and dark hair. He is a farmer and was born may 22, 1840 at
NY, Orange, Monroe. He has lived at Fairfield and Echo Lake, NJ. He is now a
pensioner and has applied under pension 707 and 765. His witnesses are James
N. Oliver from Oak Ridge and Clinton A. Oliver from Oak Ridge. They have
known him 5 years. He is now a pensioner.
1910
Census West Milford living with second wife Carrie L. and reported to have
been married 20 years.
Applied for Pension Act of Feb 6, 1907 on 1st June 1910. He is 70 years old
and a resident of Macopin, NJ. He states his residences have been Fairfield
20 years, Macopin, 20 years, Jacksonville 7 years. Witnesses were Hiram J.
Crane of Newfoundland who has known Daniel 15 years and Floyd Bigelow who has
known him 10 years. Signed John M. Weaver, Notary Public, Newfoundland, NJ. John
Weaver, also, notarized viewing Family Bible of Daniel C. Cable.
1912
He was buried in the Fairfield Cemetary. there is a picture of his
gravestone in file.
His will was probated 12 June 1912 named his wife Carrie Louise Cables as
sole executor and bequeaths all property to her. The witnesses were James N.
Oliver and William C. Oliver. James and William were living in CT at the time of
the probate.
Daniel Cables was dropped from the Pension roles on 4 Jun 1912. His last
payment was Feb 12. 1912 and was $15.00.
John M. Weaver and Justin Pease swore they knew him during the Civil War and
until he died.
His death certificate lists Richard Bros of Riverdale as undertaker. He was
ill from April 26 to 29 with acute uremia and hiccough and the doctor was F W
Gilbert of Macopin. The registrar was John M. Weaver. The form was signed 30
Apr 1912. The information was given by Mrs Cable of Macopin. His father is
listed as John Cabel born in NY and Millie Hall born in NY. His occupation was
a veterinarian and he was born in NY, 71 yrs 11 months and 22 days ago. He
was a white, married and male.
Witnesses for Widow Pension were Arthur R. Vreeland residing in Macopin and
John M. Redner of Midvale. Vreeland knew widow for 30 years and Redner knew
her for 25 years.
1920 Widow, Carrie L. (Decker) Cables dropped from Pension Rolls because of
remarriage 4 Jul 1920.
