BRITTON, Lois Jean died on February 11, 2012.
Born in Piqua, OH on 12-19-1932, raised in Darke County, Ohio near Pitsburg, Ohio on her
family's farm by parents Ora and Grace (Hatfield) Cable.
Lois the youngest of 6, of which only Mary Gahlen survives. Those who precede her are
Evelyn Cable, Myrtes Smith, Galen and Paul.
She graduated from Monroe High School in 1950. Along with husband, Keith and daughter
Linda; two grandsons: Ryan and Justin also survive her. Lois Jean began to play the piano
at age three and her first music lesson came 20 years later at Bethel College Mishawaka,
IN and then at the Cleveland Conservatory in Cleveland, OHIO. Through the years she
developed into playing church organs and on to the giant Theatre Organs where she gave
concerts in Columbus, Marion and Mansfield. She was a member of the Central Ohio Theatre
Organ Society
If you knew Lois Jean you knew when she played the organ it sounded like a symphony.
Friends may call Monday at 1:00 p.m. at JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME,
Springfield. Service to begin at 2:00 p.m.
The family would like to give their loving thanks to the staff at Forest Glen's Legacy
Center and everyone at Odyssey Hospice for their great care of Lois Jean. Condolences may
