Hello
Sara (her daddy called her Sallie) Cable was my g-g-Grandmother, George Washington Browlow
Bowman was my g-g-
grandfather. I don't believe that they had a son named William, unless he died between
censuses. I also found one reference to a William, but I am doubtful that he was really
their son. Pinkney Smith Bowman married Ellen Smithpeter and they went West to MO, raised
a family there and are buried there. Cornelius, Jr., dropped off the radar as far as
records I have been able to find; he did have at least two children; if you are
interested, I can search for their names. Sarah's husband, Cornelius, Sr., supposedly
came from Wilkes Co., NC, but he is not from the Bowman's of Shenandoah. I have had a
Y-chromosome study done of my brother, who would be his direct descendant, and the first
immigrant was Baumann, came into Charleston, SC in 1752. Do you have any information about
Cornelius, Sr.? Either he or his father was adopted in Wildes Co.
