Hello Christine, thanks for getting in touch with me. Another researcher,
Margaret Gagnon was kind enough to forward a copy of the will which appears
in "Tennessee Marriage & Bible Records" by Acklen. Since receiving it, I see
that another ancestor of mine, John Dugger, served as a witness. Now I'm
wondering if anyone is aware if the will of Casper Goebel/Cable appears on
microfilm anywhere? Would Marie Buckinham have a copy of the original will
or a copy of the transcription?
You asked about my line: Casper Goebel/Cable>Conrad>Claiborn (paternal) +
Casper T. (maternal)>Alexander (Claiborn's son) m. Sarah Matilda Cable
(Casper T.'s daughter). Alexander and Sarah Matilda were first cousins.
If anyone knows the answer to this question about if the original will is on
microfilm somwhere, please email the list or me privately. I was surprised
to learn that the Tennessee State Archives doesn't have it.
Thanks,
Cindy Luckens

This Hall/Cable family were in Monroe/Orange County/NY in 1850 when the three
children of John Cable and Millie Hall were living with relatives. More then
likely Millie Hall had died and 2 of the children were living with sisters of
Millie Hall who had married into Rednor family.

Hi everyone,
Can anyone help me with more information re: my great grandfather John
(Jack) CABLE.
He was born in County Cork 1860, Married (I think) Frances Cooper from
Manchester/Hampshire
circa 1890's worked as a fisherman out of Barking Creak Essex, worked for
Hewitts of Barking,
it has been said sunk the first German u-boat to be sunk in the first world
war in the North Sea
in a fishing boat, and died (I know) in Barking Essex July 1925.
It has also been said he left Ireland at the age of 9-10 aboard a boat to
Australia obviously
returning later, and was also in the Royal and Merchant Navies.
I have tried searching his birth records at the records office in Dublin
only to be told that they
don't hold them as he was born in 1860 and that I will have to do a parish
search.
I do not know what parish in County Cork he was born in.
Can anyone help me please?

Subject: Convicts pre 1788 from Norfolk
Good evening list,
I am a new subscriber writing from "Down Under". I am
wondering if
anyone could help me with some information regarding the
following
people.
Henry Cable (Kable) was aged 19 when caught for burglary with
his
father and another man. His father, who I believe was also
called
Henry, was executed but young Henry was sent to Australia with
the
First Fleet. Whilst in gaol - I think it was called Aldenburgh
- he
met Susannah Holmes and they had a young son who they called
Henry.
Susannah and Henry Jnr were also sent to Australia with the
First
Fleet. They were the third couple to be married in the
colonies.
What I am wondering is if anyone has any history about the
gaol,
convicts or their convictions. Was Henry Senior executed and
when.
Does anyone has any details regarding the goods or anything
connected
with the burgulary. Susannah was also said to have been guilty
of
burgulary also.
Susannah's parents were Joshua Holmes and Eunice (Unice)
Brooks and
Henry's parents were Henry Cable (Kable/Cabell) and Mary
Greene. I
also think Susannah (b:1764) had two siblings - Unice Holmes
(b:1762)
and James Holmes (b:1767)
I know this is a very long shot regarding this couple but
their
history after coming to Australia is most interesting and so I
would
like to travel a little further back in time to find out a
little
about their past. I anyone on the list is connected with
either of
this couple and would like any information about what happened
to them
after they come "Down Under" and I more than willing to
forward it. It
is a really good read!!
Thank you very much in advance for any information no matter
how large
or small -any small morsel will be gratefully received.
