The posted message, a copy of which is below, contains the names of a number
of SPROWLES. If anyone in Adair, Green, Taylor, Madison, or Casey counties
is researching the surname SPROWLES/SPROWL/SPROUL, please reply to me.
I have been searching for ties to my great-great grandmother with that
surname. She was born in 1813 in Madison Co., named Paulina SROWL (sp?), died
1851 in Green Co. KY. Her parents were Oliver SPROWL and Mary DAVIS. Paulina
married my GGgrandfather, Frederick CABELL (b. 1814 in Casey Co., d. 1908
Green Co. KY) and they lived in Green Co. about two miles from the line of what
is now Adair Co. and Hwy 61 runs through what was then their property.
Will ANYONE with info on this surname please contact me.
Thank you.
Martha (Penick) LAMKIN, Louisville, KY (born in Green County on the
CABELL/PENICK farm)
