Message Board Post:
I am looking at a photo I snapped quickly the other day at the Beechwood Cemetery
(Bensalem Twp, Bucks County, PA - just across Neshaminy Creek from Hulmeville, Middletown
Twp, Bucks Co, PA) of the grave (or maybe it's a cenotaph?) of Thomas Cabe and his
wife Amelia Moore.
I didn't strain myself to read the almost obscure areas of the stones. Here is what
is on Thomas Cabe's stone:
THOMAS CABE
died
Feb. 2, 1892.
Aged 73 years.
On Amelia's stone:
AMELIA MOORE
wife of
THOMAS CABE
Died March 18, 1896
Aged 69 years.
Both stones are laying in the ground - they look to have been the type to have been
upright at one time.
In the transcribed records on Microfilm of Beechwood Cemetery, at the Genealogical Society
of Pennsylvania (Microfilm roll #XX797):
"Jesse Cabe, May 29, 1878 $21.00 Lot 68 Section Div. L
(Transferred to Elizabeth Keen, Nov. 4, 1914 by
Jesse Cabe's daughters. Deed sent to Charles Keen,
Bridgewater, PA)"
Also in the transcriptions were some headstone inscrip-
tions. This was in the headstone inscription section but
it didn't say that it was an inscription specifically:
"Jesse Cabe
son of Elisha Cabe & Martha White
Dec 7, 1810; Aug 8, 1898
Christiana Cabe (mother)
1828-1901
Lorena M Wood 1907-1907
Eva C. Wood 1864-1937
Cara Cabe 1868-1960"
I'm related to the Elizabeth Keen who was buried in the Cabe plot on 30Oct1914. Her
husband, Charles Keen (1850-?), was brother to my gg grandmother Mary (Keen) Cotter.
My ggg grandmother Lucy Ann (Vandegrift) Keen and her son, Charles Keen, can be found in
the 1860 US Census
living in the household of Jesse Cabe and his mother, Martha.
Thought this may be helpful.
