Wow this is the most traffic I have seen in a while about Henri. I do
not have much info prior to Henri arriving in the U.S. but I do have
one correction for you. Henri and his wife did not get the America
until Jul/Aug of 1700. They arrived on the British ship Mary and Ann.
Google "Mary and Ann" ship and you will find his name on the passenger
manifest along with all the others.

You can read all about the path of exile here.

In my notes I show that Henri Cabanis who arrived in 1699 was the son
of Pierre
Cabanis and Anne Soultiere. I have never been able to prove that.
Could Henri
be the son of Pierre Cabinis who was assisted to Brandenbourg?
Switzerland could not afford to keep so many refugees so the sent them
to other
countries. The southern Huguenots were mostly sent to Germany. They
stayed there
until they decided which welcoming country to move to.
Thank you Pat. This may be a clue to Henri.
