Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Please read the whole of this mail and keep it in a safe place but not so safe you can't find it later if you need it!
This is a friendly, welcoming list where all discussions and queries about people, places and events within the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire area, both historical and contemporary, are welcomed which means there is very little that would be deemed off topic providing such discussions and queries relate to our area.
*Please do NOT post in HTML as all Rootsweb lists are plain text only.* All HTML coding will be stripped out leaving a blank message on the list. If you are not sure whether you are posting in HTML or plain text, please mail the Admin Team OFFLIST and we will let you know.
To get the best guidance and assistance, please ensure that you put your surname of interest in CAPS, in the subject line, together with the place or places and the relevant dates. Uninformative subject lines may be ignored by fellow listers.
When thanking list members who've helped you, please do one general thank you onlist and individual thanks off list.
Please do NOT post Roll Calls. If you wish to advise other members of the list of your surname interests, please give 1 or 2 surnames in CAPS in the subject line together with the place or places and relevant dates. Please also only give those surnames that fall within our area.
Please do NOT post test messages. If you've received this mail, then you are subscribed. Should you be unsure if you are subscribed, please contact me or my list admin assistant and we will check for you. Test messages remain in the archives.
Unsubscribing information is given at the end of every mail. Please also see the information below.
