Northern Colorado checking in.<snip>
On a lighter note....
I had the pleasure of attending the Highlands Fest in Estes Park, Co. This
event has been going on for 25 years and I finally made it to one. I met the
wonderful folks at the Boyd tent and Lauren, it was a pleasure meeting you.
I hope you find a good use for your new boots out there in warm California!
It was great meeting you as well.... I had hoped that Ron
would have shown his face too! I guess the snow kept some
from coming. Actually... I had considered wearing my boots
today, but figure it would be too much of a shock for others!
Sam Overstreet, of Clan Colquhoun [ka-hoon], has been braggin'
that he has seen something no others have ever seen! "Lauren
in shoes!" I wear Birkenstock sandals all the time... well,
except when I need to look Presidential at some of the
evening events held in the East and at the Kirkin' o' the Tartan.
Now I will have to find occasions to wear my fine new pair of
Colorado hiking boots!
I was quite impressed by the Highland Festival in Estes Park.
Those pipers you heard that could "really play" were the
New Zealand Police Pipe Band and the Canadian Air Force Band.
I understand that many of the Canadian troops present on Saturday
and Sunday are actually stationed at NORAD in Colorado. Shared
dinner with some o' them Saturday night during the Tattoo. I
imagine by Tuesday, they were doing something other than playing
I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the games. Terry and I enjoyed
meeting you. She will host the tent there again next year as
she has "forever". Plan on spending more time at the tent next
year. : ) Maybe your cousin, Jeanne, can join you? It would
be a nice trip from Maryland!
