In checking my files once again I found the following:
Copied from "Davidson Early Records of GA Vol. 2". Wilkes Co., GA
Will Book "HH" -- 1819-1836.
"Judith Bowles -- All property in GA and VA equally divided between Gideon
Boles Bunch and Hannah Crews Bunch, orphans of Pouncey Bunch, late of Wilkes
Co., dec'd. and wife Sarah Bunch. David Bunch, Wilkes Co., one of execs.
From "Minutes of Inferior Court -- 1817-1824":
"Bowles, Judith, dec'd. Will probated."
In the book "Chronicles of Wilkes Co., GA", on page 200, I found the
following article which had been printed in the WASHINGTON CHRONICLE, Feb.
"DEATH OF MR. G. B. BUNCH. This well known citizen of Wilkes county died at
his home on Monday of something like paralysis, aged 75 years old. He was a
member of the Baptist Church and for many years was bookkeeper for Cozart
and Hogue, and also served as County Treasurer."
Could this be your Gideon Boles Bunch? If this man was b. 1815, as his age
and the date of the above article indicate, he would have been about 7 yrs
old when the above Will was probated.
In another article I found the name Gideon J. Bunch as having been in Capt.
Robert Toombs Company in the Indian Wars This list of names had been
provided from memory by another who had been in that Company. There is a
map of an area called "Mallorys 167" and reference to "Bunch Mill"
appear to be in or bordering on Elbert County.
In 1850 Wilkes Co. Census there is a Benjamin Mallory, age 50, b. VA living
in the home of Daniel H. Standard. Also a Hellen Bunch, age 2l, living in
home of Benaj Smith, age 37, and wife, Hannah C., age 27, b. in VA.
Hope this helps a little.
