Thanks for the input. My George Bowles would have to show a son listed as Charles and a
wife listed as Louise Katherine. I found this family in the 1920 census. It shows George
as being born 1865. I also found Charles Bowles in the Social Security Death Index as
being born Feb 27 1894 and died May 1976. I need someone to verify This Charles as having
been married to Alice Porter at some point in time, divorced and later remarried and had
a second family. Once I discern that, then I can start tracing further back. I am afraid
to go trekking down a trail that turns out to belong to someone else, if you know what I

morphed thru Kettenring & Kettering, plus a "Cansler" that started as
Gentzler, Gantzler, Kantzler and so forth.

I searched the 1870 and 1860 census index and could not find these guys.
They must be hiding under some really weird spelling.
There are some people on the Bowles list researching Bowles in Franklin Co.
They may be able to identify G. W. Bowles as part of another of the Franklin
