Subject: Rev Soldiers - living in Jones co.
I thought I'd see if we could work on this list some more! I appreciate
everyone of you who has helped me with additional information....
Please...pass this along to some other surname lists or county lists for
me, so we can locate some of these people and where they may have moved to.
If they stayed in Jones Co...then I'd like to list where they're buried and
also who they married. Remember some of these names may not be spelled
List is based on Mrs. Carolyn Williams "History of
Jones County". Additional information contributed by
These Revolutionary Soldiers (while living in Jones County) drew in the
land lottery (see the specific year). This land was located in the
Cherokee Lands(northwestern section of Georgia).
Many "fortunate drawers" never moved to the land, but sold it instead. The
deed of the sale would be in the county in which the land is located today.
