Leathel, you've strongly suspected that Benjamin Bowles is a
son of Sarah Bacon Bowles. Since I don't yet have any documentation
nor leads that would prove that for me, I hold your suspicion as a
first and best guess. With that in mind, I can tell you that
Benjamin was born in 1785, went to Barren Co. probably before 1800
and left probably around 1812. I can't prove those things, either.
But the groups he seemed to migrate with began heading for Missouri
after he married Elizabeth Jeffries in Barren Co. in 1810.
Benjamin had 7 daughters and two sons. One of the sons was
my gggrandfather Henry, who had 9 daughters and one son who also
produced daughters. The other son didn't have children. Henry's
daughter, Frances Adalina, had 6 daughters and 3 sons.
Charlie, do you know why we're not using mitochondria to
prove our lineage? Too expensive? If we can get the female lines
involved I'll be rolling in information...

When you go through these census you will know who these Bowles are.
a Mary Bowles with a male over 21. This could be Mary Bowles born 1775, a
daughter of Thomas Phillip and Sarah Bacon Bowles. Who could the male over
21 be? It could be her brother Benjamin Bowles, he is not listed? OR it
could be Mary Bowles born about 1785 a daughter of Elijah and Mary with one
of her brothers? If somebody has information on who it is let me know.
