I have seen the name Heath. I know the Bowles surname relates to Heathcoate or Hathcoate.
Don't know how it's spelled. But,I've wondered if Heath could have been
Heathcoate? Long or hard spelled names were sometimes shortened by many. Maybe the reason
was, because so many people couldn't read and write, in early days.
There were Heaths and Bowles connections in Suffolk, in 1667. Boston and Roxbury were
mentioned. The name John Cheiney was also connected.
