I have been working on a book about the Lawson family genealogy.
I don't have anything specific for you but I have a notation that Peter
Lawson died in McMinn Co., Tn Many of the Lawsons were in and out of
Polk/McMinn/Bradley Co., Tn Peter had a son Russell born about 1797. He
had a brother Hamilton and siblings John, tabitha, Winnie and Thomas.
None of this has been proven so I don't put it in my book.
However, Peter clearly related to our Lawson family because of a record
Our William Lawson married Sarah Hinton daughter of William Robert Hinton
probably in Henry Co., Va. before 1778 and they came to Hawkins Co., Tenn by
There is clearly a connection with Peters family and the Hintons because one
of his gr children was named William Hinton Lawson.
This Russell is the only one I have found born about that time though there
were several Russell's.
