I just noticed the following item on eBay which might be very important to the right
Bowles descendant or collector.
Here is the description from the eBay posting:
This is just an incredible collection one Mother made while her son was at War. This book
consists of several items. It has alot of collectables and letters. It has a ton of old
post cards. Quite a bit of Black Americana and alot of teasing. It was typical of the day,
but now quite a few of the cards a politically incorest. Who cares. It was part of
history. I will do my best to describe it all. The bok belonged to Mrs. Wm. Bowles. Her
son was PFC. William A Bowles. He has an address of Co B 16 Battallion 4th Replacement
regiment, In Ft. George G. Meade Maryland. Ther is his pay record with an insurance policy
for h8is mother. There is a Nooky Ration Card. and a Newspaper clippijng from the
Humboldt, Eureka Times dated March 17, 1942. It has the different ranks. Also a Doughbuoy
Map of the Probable direction of thrust by the 1st Canadian army near Cologne and Holland.
The inside of the book has a cup from the fountain of youth to all kinds of post cards.
Most of the cards ar!
e rare and collectable because of thier political incorrectness. See all the pictures. I
took as many as I could put in the add, but there is so much more. This is a hard to find
personal part of the War. The cards alone list for several hundred. I will start it at
19.99 w/ NO RESERVE!! This is a personal part of the war. I recieved this from his
daughter who could no longer look at it. He had recently passed away. I have agreed to
sell it. Hopefully it will go to some one who will make it shine through history. Click
