Mary Ledford, JOHNSON CITY

Mary Lee Baird Ledford, 79, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at Asbury Place,
She was a native of Washington County and the daughter of the late John Frederick and Ann
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty five years:
Thomas "Pat" Ledford; two infant sons: John Talmadge Ledford, Andrew Baird
Ledford; four sisters: Sylvia Baird, Katherine Chesser, Mildred Davis, Mabel Baird;
brother: William Harry Baird.
Mary was a registered nurse for several years and a member of the Nurse Organization
Veterans Association (NOVA). She was a Sunday School teacher and a published author. Mary
was of the Methodist faith.
Mary is survived by her children: Susan Dianne Blankenbeckler and husband, Richard
"Roy" Blankenbeckler, Thomas Paul Ledford and wife, Saundra; grandchildren:
Joshua Paul Ledford and wife, Cristel, Stuart Kaleb Blankenbeckler, Thomas Cody Ledford,
Sara Boles and husband, Brian; three beloved granddaughters: Eleanore Grace
"Laney" Ledford, Josephine Faith Ledford and Ayla Ried Boles; sisters: Joy
Penley, Betty Honeycutt, Patricia Lyons, Peggy Capell; brothers: Paul Frederick Baird,
Charles Yates Baird; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will greet friends in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral and Cremation
Services on Monday, September 2, 2013, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Entombment services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday at Monte Vista Memorial Park in the
Mausoleum Chapel. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Brian Boles and Todd Lyons. Everyone
is asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 AM.
In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be sent to St. Jude's Children's
Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
The family would like to thank the staff of Asbury Place and Caris Hospice for the loving
care they gave Mary.
