As if our members on the East coast have nothing to worry about, we get an important
message from Sandi Gorin.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all our members, and those they're concerned
about, come through this big storm uninjured. If you have news you want to talk about,
please e-mail me *privately* at linne(a)gravestock.us
May you all be warm, dry, and safe.

This group which just keeps bombarding the lists with spam is at it
again. This is the group that recommends genealogy books and makes it
sound personal - just a recommendation that they have purchased books
from this company and love it etc. We've run into them before. They
come from all sorts of e-mail addresses and their names vary as they
recommend the company.
So far they have been hitting primarily surname lists, going letter
by letter through the alphabet. They haven't started on the county
lists yet, but likely will. Since the SCKY list and the Barren Co
list are vulnerable, I wanted to warn you not to be fooled by them. I
don't want to put these lists on moderation which means that the
posts you make come to me first and I have to release them. I hope I
don't have to. There seems no easy way to stop them. Someone
subscribes to the list, looking innocent, and then starts sending
So - if a post comes through while I'm not at the computer to catch
it and it advertises this genealogical printing company with fabulous
prices and great service - delete it!
