Marcum (Clay County, Kentucky)

of Manchester. It was est near the mouth of Big
Creek, over 4 mi downstream, on Mar 11, 1908,
with Henry B. Marcum, Jr., pm, and named for the
family of Thomas Marcum, a Clay Co pioneer.

Thomas Marcum married Mary (Polly) Wilson. Mary
(Polly) Wilson's father was Phillip Wilson. The
Marcum and Wilson family removed from North
Carolinia to Clay County, Kentucky. Some of the
family moved to the Red Brid River area in Owsley
Lewis Marcum who married Jane Bowles moved from
Owsley County, Kentucky to Drip Rock in Estill
County, Kentucky. Lewis Marcum was the son of
Thomas Marcum and Mary (Polly) Wilson.
