Yay, this link works, so now I shall have fun experimenting with words
Thank you so much

Okay, Gail. I just went to look at it myself. They've ambushed
me by changing how it looks and how it works. There's not just one
box now, but several.
Just looking at it, it confused me, until I tried several things.
They have it set up for a situation where if you're looking for
one specific e-mail from someone, and you know all the information
you need to know but you need to read it again, you can find it if
you fill in all the boxes. (How often does that happen, compared
to simply wanting to search the whole thing to see what you can
find?) But it'll work for both situations.
So here's what you do.

If you're an old hand at this, eventually you figure out that it
does work. Clicking on that address *will* get you to where you
need to be.
In "Body" put in McSweeney, since you're looking for McSweeney in
the body of anyone's message.
Leave "Subject" and "From" blank.
In "List" put Bowles
In "Date" put 1997. (And when you're finished searching through
1997, put in 1998 and so on up to the present.)
I got exactly what I wanted by following those instructions.
I've been telling newcomers what I told you for ten years. I hope
that RootsWeb just recently changed it, or there are a huge amount
of confused newcomers out there.
If this gives you trouble, let me know. If you find success, let
the whole list know!
