Mrs. Rosa Ann Gwinn, 81, of 205 Bell Avenue in Campbellsville,
daughter of the late Mr. John Henry Newton and Mrs. Nancy Ellen Wise
Newton, was born in Taylor County, December 13, 1898. She died at
11:10 p.m., Friday, March 28, at the Taylor County Hospital after a
brief illness. Funeral services were at 11 a.m., Monday, March 31,
at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church by Father James C.
Wafzig. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ambrose
Netherland, Hayden Bowles, Jr., Lynwood Newton, Leslie Minor, Gilbert
Newton, and Charles Newton. Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual
Help Catholic Church and was a member of the Senior Citizens Club.
She united in marriage to Mr. Sam Gwinn. He preceded her in death
March 30, 1955. To this union one son and one daughter were born:
Mr. Earl Gwinn of Campbellsville and Mrs. Geneva Fremdling of
Louisville. Besides her children, she is survived by!
two granddaughters: Ms. Patti Tyler and Miss Genny Lynn Moberly,
both of Louisville; one brother: Mr. Johnie Newton of Campbellsville;
several nieces and nephews.
