I always thought Tyler to be Taylor. The name Rebecca runs through
Taylor families, for generations.

The facts that Elizabeth Young in her will 1695 claims Bowles Tyler
as her grandson. This means that Elizabeth Young was a mother to
Rebecca Bowles or James Tyler? William Bowles, son of Edward, in his
will 1662 lists Uncle John Bowles and kinsman James Tyre. It took me
awhile to figure out which John Bowles he was calling uncle, (John
died 1664 or John died 1675). When I found that it was 1673 when
John Bowles was granted (Bowles Purchase), I knew which one was
uncle. Now Uncle John gave to his nephew (James Tyler,Tyre)(Bowles
Purchase). If that was true then John, Edward, and Rebecca Bowles
were brothers and sister, and their mother Elizabeth died after
1695. The word nephew meant different things back then and since
James Tyre was married to Johns niece, (Simon and Elizabeth Bowles
daughter)he called (James Tyre d.1686 who married Rebecca) nephew.
