Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
Wendy, I was sorry to hear about Barbara's passing. This list can be of
great help to those of us who are "blind genealogists". I'd like it if it
were more active but, at least I know you're there if I have a research or
technology question. Thanks for letting us know. Karen, now in Tempe,

Blind-Genealogists list members -
I have heard via Barbara Mallyon's Facebook page of her sad decease at
the end of April. It would have been her birthday today.
Barbara was the founder and first admin of this group. I remember
talking to her at a Family History fair in Woking when she was very keen
to set up such a list. She felt there was a place for a list such as this.
The first posts were in February 2004.
At the end of the first week, Barbara posted a poem she liked, which
I'll repost here:
Life may not be the party we'd hoped for,
but while we are here we might as well dance.
I have been Barbara's deputy admin since the group's formation, and of
late have been admin of the group. I was quite often asked to hold the
fort while Barbara & Roger went on a cruise - they loved going on cruises!
Thinking of her husband and family at this time.
