The phone number I tried for Wales Tourist Board (029204305806) was a
wrong number - unless I dialled incorrectly!
It had occurred to me that Homecoming 2000 requests (whether by
e-mail, phone, or post) might be stockpiled until information on
events in the year 2000 became available - and if this is the case,
it's no use to people who're coming in 1999!
So today I've had a much better look today at the Wales Tourist Board
website, where I found, at the following address, an on-line form to
fill in to request information about areas, events, accommodation, etc
for ANY date of trip, NOT JUST 2000:

There's also a list of interests and activities which one is invited
to tick - FAMILY HISTORY IS NOT THERE!!! Neither is there a box
marked OTHER, in which one could type Family History. There is
"Castles & Heritage", and Museums & Galleries"; but they're a
different thing altogether. But if one prefers, a direct e-mail can
be sent from the same site, without filling in the form - in that one
could type that one wished to be somewhere accessible to the County
Record Office, National Library, or whatever.
